A new way to look
Same pictures.
A little more life.
Open a page and let Wireface find the faces. The original picture stays in place while small expressions bring it to life.
- A glance. A blink. A smile.
- Natural idle expressions, smirks, brow raises and tiny nose twitches. Each face has its own timing.
- They notice you.
- Eyes follow your pointer. Hover over a picture to trigger a random expression.
- From portraits to characters.
- Try photographs, illustrated faces and cartoons. Clear, recognisable human-like faces work best; some stylised or sideways faces may be missed.

Good to know
Your browser. Your controls.
Does it upload my pictures?
No. Face detection and animation run on your device. Wireface reads image pixels to animate them; it does not upload them, and there is no analytics or account requirement.
Which images does it work with?
It works with ordinary web images, group pictures and supported CSS background images. Clear human-like faces are easiest to detect, including many illustrated and cartoon faces. Very small, obscured, sideways or highly stylised faces may not animate. Videos, canvas drawings and animated image playback are not supported.
Why does Chrome ask for access to websites?
Wireface needs to find pictures and draw the animation over them. You can pause the extension on a particular site, pause it everywhere, or restrict site access in Chrome’s extension settings. Chrome’s internal pages and the Chrome Web Store do not allow it to run.
Does the extension make sound?
The extension is silent. The narration and music belong to the promo video. Wireface does not use your microphone or camera.
How do I update it?
Replace the files in your extracted extension folder with the new download, click Reload on Wireface at chrome://extensions, and refresh your web pages.
